Preschool Piano Lessons

(AGES THREE TO SIX)
Our Preschool Program will have your preschooler playing on the first day. Classes are designed to be engaging, fun and full of the fundamental skills required to play an instrument. Your child can't read? No problem- the curriculum is designed with the pre-reader in mind. Classes introduce pre-reading skills as well as preschool math skills to prepare students for future studies in music.

What age can join the Preschool Program?
Our Preschool program is designed for children ages 4-6 who do not yet know how to read. We have had some children as young as 3 join this program with help from an adult during their lessons.
What do the children learn in the Preschool Program?
Children will learn the fundamentals of music such as steady beat, high and low pitch, fast and slow sounds, etc. We focus on pre-reading which allows the students to start playing the piano on their first day following symbols and pictures. We incorporate singing, action songs, and math activities to help grow the parts of the brain needed to learn an instrument. Classes are fast moving, engaging, and designed for the young learner.
Do I have to know how to read music?
No. Our preschool program focuses on pre-reading skills. Students will learn to play songs using pictures in the Preschool program. From there they can then learn to to reading using numbers, letters, and then notes.
Do I need a piano to take lessons?
No, you do not need a piano at home to take lessons. For our preschool program, all you need is a small keyboard (24 keys minimum). Toy pianos can often be used for lessons as long as they have enough keys. You can send a photo into admin@canadamusiclessons.com and we can let you know if it will work for your classes.
Are there Preschool recitals?
Absolutely! Every December and June, our students have the opportunity to perform in a supportive and encouraging environment. Unlike most of our competitors, we do not charge students a fee to perform. And admission is free, so you can invite all of your family and friends with no fees.
